Hello! This smiling young boy in the photo is me, Maksym. I was born into the family of Valentyna and Oleksandr from Kyiv, and I had an older sister. We lived our happy life until Russia launched a full-scale offensive against Ukraine. I passed away on 14 March 2022. At that time, I was trying to evacuate from the Kyiv region with my parents. The car with me, my parents, two adults and a one-year-old boy from the village was shot at from a Russian armored personnel carrier. Only my dad survived.
Since childhood, I liked to collect small toy cars of all kinds, I had a large car park. When I grew up, I became interested in computer technology. I liked and succeeded in studying: at school, I loved history, literature, and English. In general, I was very diligent in my studies: if I failed, I tried to catch up. In my free time, I used to swim and go to the gym. Together with my friends, I rode bicycles and scooters, and collected Rubik's cubes for speed.
My family was hardworking and friendly. My dad taught me how to collect firewood. We liked to make a bonfire and enjoy the potatoes and meat baked on it. My dad and I were inseparable. I always tried to be close to him and absorb his wisdom.
My mother always said that I was her hope. She believed that I would achieve a lot.
Now my name and my mother's name are engraved on the Memorial to the Victims of the Russian Armed Forces in Bucha. There are more than 500 names on it.
